Balconies and terraces are more than just useful spaces - they are places where you can relax, recharge your batteries and enjoy life in the open air. That is why these spaces are also subject to special requirements. They have to withstand certain loads and stresses and at the same time they must look really good. 

Adverse weather conditions and mechanical stresses coupled with high aesthetic demands - these are the challenges that liquid resins encounter in balcony applications.

Aesthetic design

ALSAN offers a wide range of slip-resistant and abrasion-resistant products for coating, waterproofing and enhancing accessible areas, such as balconies, terraces, stairways etc. UV-resistant ALSAN PMMA-based liquid resins are available in almost all RAL colours and offer enormous scope for aesthetically appealing designs. Innumerable ways of combining different colours and textures give free rein to creativity without impairing functionality. The systems ALSAN DECO MIX and ALSAN FloorStone can also be used for bold colour statements and individual decorative finishes featuring a natural-stone look.

Perfect solutions for main areas, details and upstands

In addition to aesthetic requirements, factors such as surface texture, slip resistance and easy cleaning are important. ALSAN liquid resins manufactured by SOPREMA are distinguished by properties such as high elasticity and toughness, as well as being alkali-resistant, resistant to subsurface migration and applied without joints. All details can be integrated seamlessly and the fast-curing PMMA-based products allow work to progress rapidly. Furthermore, the surface of the coating is easy to clean.

Balconies can be comprehensively refurbished with ALSAN systems, even at low temperatures, and are quickly ready to be walked on again. ALSAN liquid-resin systems are highly abrasion-resistant and a textured surface makes them slip-resistant. They are also non-yellowing, frost-resistant and water-impermeable.

Piz Gloria restaurant, Schilthorn, Switzerland

Piz Gloria restaurant, located at an elevation of 9,744 feet above sea level, turned to the waterproofing experts at SOPREMA for a permanent solution to their unique waterproofing challenges. The answer was a fully reinforced, ALSAN 770 PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) flashing system that offers a 20 year guaranteed waterproofing solution in the most trying of physical environments.

Inviting colour-accented walkways with a certain something

The picturesque premises of the modern business center B15 in Rheinfelden are host to about 15 companies. The commercial building offers flexible and attractive workplaces in a pleasant environment allowing for the most diverse forms of workplaces.Generous entrances grant a view into the inner courtyard of the buildung. The existing walkways were completely developed and create the important link to the inner courtyard. The possibility of using this oasis in smaller or larger units creates a place of movement and interaction. The materials used for the renovation as well as the colourful accents transform the walkways into an enjoyable environment.

Eine Kellertreppe strahlt in neuem Glanz

Diese Referenz steht für eine Vielzahl ähnlicher Sanierungsobjekte in der Schweiz, die mit ALSAN Flüssigkunststoffen ausgeführt wurden. Auch für diese Kellertreppensanierung wurde eine speziell auf die Abdichtungsaufgabe abgestimmte Systemlösung gefunden. Das Ergebnis sticht ins Auge und der private Eigentümer wird in den kommenden Jahren wieder mit Freude, trockenen Fußes und ausgesprochen sicher den Weg über die Hausaussenseite in seinen Keller benutzen.
