SOPREMA is an independent family business based in Strasbourg. Founded in 1908, it can look back on more than 100 years of experience in the development, manufacture and marketing of high-quality waterproofing systems. The company also specialises in roof cladding and insulation. Today SOPREMA has around 8424 employees and in 2019 the company achieved a turnover in excess of 3.08 billion euros. With a presence in over 90 countries, the Group encompasses 73 production plants, more than 90 branches and a distribution network of more than 4000 outlets. The Group is making its mark internationally with solid and steady growth, both through acquisitions and investments in new production facilities. SOPREMA also has 18 R&D centres, all focusing on sustainable development, as well as more than 22 training centres in eight countries. In terms of waterproofing systems, SOPREMA offers solutions based on bitumen, synthetic membranes and liquid resins.

A PERFECT MATCH

The history of ALSAN by SOPREMA 1996 – The first step: Acquisition of Durgalith (Genevilliers, near Paris), a small producer of resins, paints and varnishes, with 5 employees and production experience dating back to the 70s. 1997 – Birth of ALSAN Flashing One of SOPREMA‘s greatest innovations at the time, a waterproofing resin based on bitumen and polyurethane, is born. The name: ALSAN Flashing. The range is subsequently extended to incorporate PU liquid resins. From 2006 onwards – further development of the product range with PMMA liquid resins – initially with an experienced supplier; later using the company‘s own production facility in Strasbourg. Work within the SOPREMA Group is permanently focused on the advancement of liquid-resin systems - whether for interfaces and borders, balconies, flat roofs, multi-storey car parks or civil engineering structures - there is almost no limit to the areas where liquid resins can be applied.
